Founded in May 27, 1994, Cooperativa Agrícola de Juazeiro / CAJ – BA, is one of the largest and most successful producer associations of Vale do São Francisco.
Located in the city of Juazeiro - BA, CAJ has always guided among its main goals, make possible the cultivation and marketing of fruit such as grapes, mango, melon, guava, peppers, and other items of small producers who have no structure for individual development in large scale of your business.
The formula worked, and the cooperative has developed itself over the years, expanding its area of commercial activities in order to meet the growing demand of fruit worldwide.
The recipe for success that CAJ won after many years of work is due to the fact that we offer to the market, proven excellence in quality products.
So that these things are possible, the cooperative has an experienced technical team formed by agronomists and agricultural technicians, guiding the producer in the production process of the fruit, from planting to the time of harvest / packing, where they have rigorous selection and processes evaluation level of sweetness, acidity, color, size, texture, in order to ensure the CAJ Quality Standard to the final consumer.
Currently, our office works in the city of Petrolina - neighboring the city of Juazeiro-BA, both joined by a bridge over the Rio San Francisco. Our office has agricultural inputs storage sheds and packaging, as well as a cold chamber with capacity for 1,200 pallets.
This additional structure is due to the fact that the cooperative need not make stock of agricultural inputs and packaging, because the cooperative already offer all this support to producers, including the structure and cold storage for packaged fruit.
We still have a branch in Curaçá - BA, which is situated 70 km from Juazeiro, and is based on similar structure: storage sheds of agricultural inputs and packaging, and a cold chamber with a capacity of 800 pallets.
There is also a third unit that it is a specific store for resale of agricultural inputs aimed at the general public, located in front of Producer Market entry in Juazeiro / BA.
The whole structure was built over 20 years of hard work, dedication and perseverance of producers together the comunity of the Vale do São Francisco.
In order to give greater support to the production cycle of its members, CAJ has become a major "distributor" of agricultural inputs.
We work with major brands of pesticides and fertilizers of the industry, providing the best conditions purchase and suitability for the products in question, for our producer.
CAJ also takes advantage of this potential to extend this service to non-members. Therefore, all third parties may also find the products marketed by the cooperative at headquarters in Petrolina, in the branch at Curaçá and at the CAJ Store, located in Juazeiro in front of the Producer Market, designed exclusively for this purpose.
The fruits of CAJ are sold widely throughout the country and exported to many countries around the world, in notably the European countries where our ties are even stronger.
To export market purposes, CAJ is represented by Kolla - The Fruit Company, based in Hamburg, Germany.
Focusing on sustainability, on food security and also in the "best practices" with employees of each producer CAJ follows a series of strict guidelines from the beginning of the production cycle to marketing, so ensure to the final consumer, excellent fruit quality, but above all, a healthy fruit without risks to human health, and without labor exploitation.
Based on these guidelines, CAJ is audited periodically in various certification protocols that prove compliance with all the provisions of a technical, health and social security, and at the same time, accredit the cooperative to market their fruit in various markets arround the world.
The use of pesticides registered in Brazil and abroad, as well as respect for the dosages, waiting period and finally the analysis of residues at the end of the process, are basic premises followed by to ensure the Standard Quality CAJ Cooperative!
